Are you addicted to social media?

Orkut was the first toy of mine to be thrilled by interacting someone around or anonymous. I set an account on it and started searching my schoolmates. That was the amazing experience. But after that everyday atleast twice or thrice I used to log in the orkut just to see the new notifications from my friends. Sometimes I sent messages to the friends and their answers were awaiting for days, I felt uncomfortable and then I realised myself neglected. Fortunately within a year orkut passed away and an era of facebook began. The same curiosity and time was spent on facebook for somedays and afterthat it seemed uninteresting. So I took a long break of almost several months from facebook. And now I am active on facebook today.

Ok. You are bored of reading all this stuff which is actually same for most of us. Especially 90s kids are the first generation who entered in this social media network in their college life. But now it's not simple as it was. The things are being tough day by day. WhatsApp, Snapchat, Tiktok(RIP), Instagram, Twitter and many more are crowding in our mobile phones and the generation of twenty first century is almost everywhere in above mentioned networks. The time has arrived for those who aren't on any social media platform are considered as illiterate.

These things have made not only youth but also aged people mad. Everyone is enjoying this anonymous addiction. This addiction is same injurious to mental health as heroin. When something starts to attract you without any reason, consider it as an addiction. The notification tone rings in your ears everytime and you feel uncomfortable when it doesn't blink.

Not only our attention but our goals are also altered by the algorithm of the social media. The contents and ads on this platform can easily manipulate your feelings and needs. Your crave for your intentions are exaggerated by the contents collected from all around the world just as per your scroll. Your ideas and frequency of ideas are calculated on this platform from which the algorithm starts to catch you on the screen.

So should I be on social media?

Well, everything has two sides and this has too.

✔ If you think that you are using the social media, it's okay to use it. But if the social media is using you means you are controlled by someone else.

✔ If you aren't serious about the news and propaganda about politics and religion on social media, you can use it.

✔ If you are not interested in likes and comments on your posts evey minutes, you can go for it.

✔ If you are using this platform more for your creativity than only being a consumer, you are using it right way.

✔ If you don't share or forward any information without confirming its fact check, you are eligible to be active on it.

✔ If you're not sharing your personal and sensitive information on your account, you may be smart enough for this platform.

✔ If you aren't suddenly get brainwashed by some silly posts, congratulations you should be on any social media platform.

"If you aren't paying for the product, you are the product."

Yes, you're right I've watched 'the social dilemma' on Netflix. so I vomited it out. I also recommend you to see this documentary for realising the truth we know. Though the things described in the documentary are not new for many of us as you've already gone through such articles and hazardous effects of the social media, atleast once you should watch it to see the depth of your maturity for using the social media.

Final Funda: If you'll share this blog article on your social media platform, you won't be considered social media addicted.

Are Diabetes and Hypertension overrated?

A man aged 45 was taken to the hospital. The reason was just fall down due to vertigo. It wasn't his first time. Seldom such events were found in the history. The reason could be any serious thing but actually it was pretty simple. He was on antidiabetic medicines for last 6 months. The medicine was started just after two readings of fingertip sugar within 3 days on different time frame after and before lunch. Was it enough data to diagnose a giant one? Actually the diabetic readings were just temporary. Medications worked wrong for him and hypoglycemic shock was the reason of his fainting. Just some sugar cubes or a chocolate could be the treatment of that time for the conscious patient otherwise you just had to drip in plain dextrose infusion. World is suffering from non communicable diseases (NCD) widely. Lifestyle is the key substance behind this ' NCDemic '. Cancer, hyper or hypothyrodism, obesity, hypertension, diabetes etc are the well-known players of this team. Bu...

Is every health information on internet reliable?

You wanted to know whether your fever was dengue or malaria and you just asked to Dr.Google instead of lab tests on the basis of your symptoms. Sometimes your headache search results also lead to cerebral palsy. That is how we are too much reliable on Internet sources. Today, people are making Google a tool to doubt doctors. They cannot trust their own doctors as much as they trust the mobile in their hands. The availability of easy-to-use and cheap Internet may also force us to take advantage of this. 90% of the patients with 18 to 24 years age range trust medical information on social media. I said social media, not a medical journal. Medical journals are enriched with knowledge sources which may be indigestible for the most of people. All want everything on their fingertips. So day by day it's being a vast platform for the consumers to obtain the right information and knowledge to fulfill their queries. Everything is marketed online and the online publicity is now the...

A silent pandemic with corona: Antibiotic Resistance

Once upon a time there were lots of magic molecules around us to combat bacterial infections. They were totally used to defend us from mild to sevear infections. After sometimes these molecular options were narrowed day by day. Now this decade is going to threat us by snatching our magic molecules from us. Just like an Iron mam without his AI suit our strength against infections will be reduced to more than half. The antibiotic resistance is spreading all over the world and most of bacterial cells are boosting their own immunity to be superbugs. We are aware of the the horror show with antibiotic resistance . Corona virus pandemic has accelerated this resistance in short time. The door was already opened for superbugs is now widen by this novel virus. Corona virus has emerged as a best friend of bacteria now a days. How is corona triggering antibiotic resistance? As we all know very well Corona is a viral disease and antibiotics don't work on it. But that is just a half truth. Actu...
